Strong & Free!

I went on a lovely walk this afternoon and found this beauty. It made me beam with pride to be Canadian and looking at this picture I think of “Strong & Free”. The rocks representing the land and beauty that we have that lasts for lifetimes. The maple leaf symbolizing the freedom we have in this country along with a reminder that life is both precious and ever changing…. seasons…. cycles…. and lifetimes.

I hope you all take a moment today to stop and see the beauty in your day and if your life. Life is indeed precious.

Just Be….

One of the areas of my life that I am working on is to “Just Be” more often than “Doing”. Sometimes it’s easier than others, but I find I am yearning even more than ever to just be and to enjoy the simple things in life.

I took this picture a couple of years ago at my cottage. I find that I can really get into the groove of relaxing when I am in nature. Nature helps me to connect to my soul and to become one with my essence.

There are many ways to practice the art of being and there is no right or wrong way to do this. Here are some suggestions. Feel free to add to the list:

. A relaxing bath
. Listen to music
. Read a chapter in a good book
. Star gaze
. Moon gaze
. Hug a mug of hot tea with your hands
. Stare out a window
. Light a candle and set an intention when you look at it
. Place some fresh flowers in your space and en-JOY
. Sit on a beach
. Stare at a waterfall
. Stroll in a park
. For some, cooking a meal and connecting with the scents, tastes and love that goes into it

These are a few ideas but there are many ways to connect with our essence. The secret is to set the intention and to make doing so a priority.
