Don’t Invite The Nasties To Dinner!!!

“Know that you can always choose the thoughts you allow in your mind, so make the effort to replace disempowering, weakening thoughts with those of a higher spiritual frequency. It is your choice!”

– Dr. Wayne Dyer

You know I write a lot about this and I will continue to do so. Thoughts are things and we can CHOOSE which ones we want to focus on.

Yes, I know thoughts just randomly pop into our minds and that is okay. It is the ones we entertain that matter.

Think of it this way, if you had a dinner party and some of the guests that you invited were not suited to your way of being, or they were rude or nasty or anything that was negative. Would you keep inviting these people to your table?

A woman with a knife and fork in her hands with an angry look on her face.

NO! So why would we do it with our thoughts?

There is a magical combo that works well but it means that you have to practice self-care as well.

When you have a thought or multiple thoughts that are not serving you, recognize it, and then CHOOSE a new thought. However, with that said it is much easier to do when you are in a place of ‘feeling good’.

Do Things That Make YOU Feel Good

Therefore, do things every day that make you feel good and that show nurturing and caring for your body, mind and spirit. For example, I started my morning by reading more on the power of gratitude in my life. I am sipping on warm lemon water now and I have some peaceful and Zen type of music on.

It doesn’t matter ‘what’ you do, just do things that show you that you are sacred and loved!!!!!

When you feel better about yourself it is much easier to pivot your thoughts when those nasties arise.

So I leave you with the goal of two things today:

  1. Do MORE things for YOU today that nurture you and make you FEEL GOOD
  2. Consciously be AWARE of your thoughts and start replacing the nasties with BETTER thoughts.

Okay, I hope you found this helpful and have a great day everyone!

And please remember that if you are really struggling, it is always OK to reach out for help. That my friends is nurturing yourself too!

Big Hugs to All!

Dealing With Anxious Thoughts

“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you”. Dan Millman

You might be thinking the above statement is an impossible feat, but I encourage you to think of thoughts in another way and it might be helpful for you.

Thoughts Are Things

We often say that “thoughts are things” and it is true. So if this is indeed true and thoughts are just things just like a coffee cup is a thing, a laptop is a thing, a t-shirt is a thing, etc. etc.

So with that said, if things are things, we may have things in our lives, but we don’t become our things.

Instead we USE our things. We use the coffee cup to drink coffee, or water, or tea, or to drink whatever we decide from it.

We wear the t-shirt but we don’t become obsessed with the t-shirt. We use it for a purpose and we take it off when we want to or when we are done using it for the day.

Therefore, if we looked at thoughts more as things that we can use for what we choose, just like the coffee cup, or the t-shirt we can take them off when we don’t want to think them anymore, just like the t-shirt.

Or in kind, like the laptop we can use our thoughts to formulate sentences, paragraphs, or even entire stories just like a laptop and its programs have the power to do!!

You get the idea here. USE your thoughts (the things) for your highest good and stop using them when they are no longer serving your or causing you pain.

CHOOSE New Thoughts!

The easiest way to pivot your thoughts is to divert them to new ones…. just like things. If you were wearing a t-shirt and spilled something on it, you would go and change it!

So change your thoughts to new ones!

Why Not UNchoose?

Maggie, no matter the temptation, you no longer think or say, “I’m anxious,” “I’m hurt,” or “I’m angry.” Because each of these feelings are choices, that can be unchosen, instead of reinforced. And you will be amazed,   The Universe This was my beautiful note from the Universe the other morning and I quite loved it.…

The Past is Real or is it?

Good morning everyone! I wanted to share with you how I felt when I read these words from Byron Katie. But before I do, just to share some good news, I figured out another technological hack and here is the audio link from SoundCloud which is exactly the same verbal content as this written blog…

Worry Not…

“If you want to test your memory, try to recall what you were worrying about one year ago today.”

– E. Joseph Cossman

Do you just love that quote like I do? Right?

How much time do we lose in life to worry? Whatever the answer that comes to mind, it’s too much!

It reminds me of the saying about not letting thoughts live rent free in our heads. If they are not positive thoughts that are serving us, they have to move out! Same for worry. Sorry, I don’t need you here in my life and head.

What do I need you might ask? How about filling that space with peace, comfort, JOY, happiness, trust, HOPE, laughter, and more?

Now that is a better plan isn’t it? 🙂 And if we know that we probably won’t remember what we were worrying about last year on this day, we can see how unimportant a lot of worry really is.

All we have is the here and now. We hear that all the time but it really is true. Yesterday does not exist (not here anymore) and tomorrow, as we know, never comes and is not promised to anyone so let us live each moment in as much peace and JOY as we can and this means SORRY WORRY BUT YOU HAVE TO GO! 🙂

Allow Deep Emotional Connections at This Time

A woman sitting on a wall enJOYing the sun and reflecting on her emotions.

It’s Okay to Feel

I was in a business FB group today and the topic came up about how people are much more emotional these days and rightly so!

It made me reflect on the fact that, I too, have been much more emotional. For those of us staying at home, I think we are all experiencing this and it is not necessarily a bad thing.

Maybe there are things we need to clear out and move or to heal and now is a good time for that. People are clearing out their houses and painting rooms, but we can also clear out any emotional baggage as well. If it is no longer serving us it can GO!

One of the ways to help with the movement of emotions or energy in motion, is to allow the emotions to surface and to let them come out. You can do this is positive ways as well.

For example, on my daughter’s birthday last week, I cried multiple times. I cried for the JOY we created together as a family as we celebrated her birthday together. I know this will be the one birthday that she will probably remember the most. We laughed, we cried and we enJOYed.

We even had a treasure hunt in the house. I put notes, a few gifts, that luckily I had bought and wrapped prior to this pandemic (which is unusual for me ) :-), and I hid pictures of her when she was young. She was thrilled finding these old pictures!

So many people came by to leave gifts on the steps or to wave and every time it was soooo moving. And I allowed the emotions to surface within myself. I allowed….

Many people are telling me that they are being emotionally moved by the compassion and kindness they see in the world at this time. This is another great way to allow and to move emotion.

I am enJOYing seeing people painting, playing their guitars, singing, and taking on projects that they had left of the back burner of life. That moves me too!

♥ What about you? ♥

Are you tapping into your emotional side and allowing? Are you deciding which emotions to keep and which ones no longer serve you? I hope so.

I really believe that we will emerge as a brand new butterfly when we bust out of this cocoon. 🙂 Can you see the new and beautiful YOU? I can.

Much Love to All!

From Worry to Peace – Change Trains!

Do you ever find yourself waking up to a train of thoughts about your day or your life? Does your mind race? Do these thoughts produce anxiety for you? Do you have thoughts something like I wish I didn’t start thinking this morning or I just want to go back to sleep?

We all have these thoughts as we start to wake up and start thinking about what we have to do, what is on or mind, or what we are currently worrying about. It’s common. The good news is that we can use this same technique of running thoughts to our advantage! Woo hoo!

What do I mean by this? Think of your thoughts like a train. They are moving and going from the next stop to the next or from thought to thought. They are moving and gaining momentum as they travel along. You get the idea.

So the easy thing to do is to change trains! Say STOP and then hop on the Gratitude Train. Start thinking of things to be grateful for. The bed you have to sleep in. That you opened your eyes one more time and you have been given another day on earth. That you have a job to go to. That you don’t have a job to go to. Be grateful for your dog or cat cuddled up beside you. The sounds of the birds chirping. Or the stillness. Or the feeling of your favorite sheets or blanket. ❤ That your heart is still beating. ❤ That the sun is shining. Or that the rain is refreshing the earth. That you can hear the rain…… etc. etc. etc. There are a zillion things you can find to be grateful for.

Once you get the gratitude train rolling you will start to feel better, your worry will fall away and best of all you will start to attract good things in your day and your life!

Also your smile 🙂 will be brighter and your heart ❤ will be happier and you will have a ripple effect on all of those that you encounter so even your relationships will improve. 🙂 It is a win-win any way you look at it.

I’ll see you on the Gratitude Train!

Intuition

3 Clues to Intuition

Woman in living room thinking

We are all able to tap into our intuition or our sixth sense as some people like to call it.

I have found that there are 3 big clues to using your intuition.

1) Look for hesitation. If you find that you are hesitating about something, there could be a really really good reason and this is often your intuition at work. When you find yourself in hesitation mode about a decision of some sort, stop and check in with your intuition. Ask for clearer direction and trust that you are hesitating for a reason.

2) Watch your brain. When you are using your intuition, but are not listening to its direction, often your brain will kick in and try to offer an analytical reasoning…. Watch out for the brain and ego. For example, I have had situations where my gut was saying NO, NO, NO, but I listened to my mind telling me or selling me on why I should go forward and it turned out my intuition was completely right!

3) Things are not flowing. Do you ever make a decision and then find you are hitting continual road blocks or bumps in the road? This can be a big indication of not flowing with your intuitive road and decision making. When there is resistance, there is a reason. Once again check in with your intuition and ask for clearer direction.

When we combine all three of these traits in our day to day living, it is much easier to go with our gut and follow our intuition. 😊
