I found this awesome coffee grinder at the thrift store yesterday!
It made me think of a conversation I had with my sister the other day. We were talking about how long one has to wait for appliances (ordered) these days and how she had a fridge go out but luckily had an older one for backup.
I was sharing how we were in need of a dishwasher for a property and how I had a friend who has a new one being delivered soon and is passing along her older one (but still works well) to me. This was the perfect solution for me as who knows how long I would have to wait for a new one! And I love to repurpose things!
Our conversation also went to how things are getting back (in a good way) to how it was when we grew up and how we made use of things and we were not so much of a disposable society. It was harder to get things and we planned accordingly and back then you made things last and were resourceful in multiple ways.
We also talked about doing the best job that we can to avoid things going to landfill sites. Many things can be repurposed, reused in new ways and donated to people and places that can make use of things.
So those are my thoughts for today and I just ground up some coffee in my new grinder so it is time to enJOY a fresh cup of coffee on this blustery day here in the North.
