If I Could Live My Life Over Again There is One Thing I Would Do More Of And It Seems to Surprise People

In Hindsight

It is interesting what becomes clear to one when contemplating life and in looking back especially after being diagnosed with a serious illness.

No regrets…. But….

I have no regrets in life but I have become clear as to what is important to me and I have also realized what I have really enJOYed doing in my life. It seems to really surprise people when I tell them that I wish I did more of this!

I Would Do More….

Cooking!

I would cook with fresh and interesting ingredients. I would try more recipes! I guess this surprises people because I have cooked a lot in my life and I still cook when I can.

Cooking With Fresh Ingredients

Here Is The Difference

I always saw cooking as taking time away from what I could be doing. And that ‘could be doing’ was usually related to ‘work’ or to ‘working’.

Being a serial entrepreneur I seemed to always be racing to some imaginary finish line and I was and am very zealous and dedicated to my work and in helping other people. I love to help people and have found many different hats to wear to do that. But with that said it kept me busy so although I indeed do and have done a lot of cooking up until now, I would have done more of it!

This just tells me that in retrospect, it was and is really important to me! Food is one of the greatest earthly pleasures! I would not only have tried more recipes and used fresh ingredients but I would have also had more fun with it by allowing myself to do it more and with JOY! I would have been more passionate about it!

Unfortunately today I don’t have the same appetite or energy depending on the day, and all of this affects the enJOYment of food or in the making of food. I have been enJOYing food gifted to me by friends and family which has been lovely too.

My Main Message For Everyone Today!

What do you love to do? What do you put off doing or make excuses about doing because you don’t think you have the time or that you think you might be wasting time by doing it? Or that it’s not a priority. Maybe it is a priority? Maybe you really enJOY doing it? What is that? What is that thing? You know it. 🙂

I invite you to get clear and seize the day and start doing the very thing that you have just received answers and direction on. You know what they are, even if it is just one thing.

I love you all. Have a great day!

My View of Life is Forever Changed Today!

It was minus 22 degrees celcius this morning as I drove happily to an appointment. The sun was shining, the sky was amazingly blue, and I realized how much I love winter. I love all the seasons but I was just in so much ♥JOY ♥ this morning thinking about the gift of life itself.

I truly had a revelation. It hit me so hard it was like a sucker punch to the heart. 👊💝

I thought to myself why would I ever wish winter away? I then thought when this winter is over, or when this cold day in February is over, it is one less that I will ever have…. one less day, one less winter… one less Christmas, one less viewing of the blue sky….. one less, one less, one less.

In that moment I thought I will never wish away another day or season ever. This thinking and feeling really helped me to understand the power of living in the NOW. The RIGHT NOW! 𝓃♡𝓌 𝓃♡𝓌 𝓃♡𝓌

A Note to My Younger Self

Here I am at 53 years old and I have had many life’s experiences and I look forward to many more. Life has a way of softening you as you go along. Or maybe hardening for some but for me I feel softer. I sure am not the woman I was 10, 20 or even 30 years ago and I’m glad. 🙂

If I could write a note to my younger self, and I can, lol this is what I would say:

Dear Maggie

I remember when you were a younger version of yourself and although you lacked confidence throughout many times of your life, there were times when you thought you knew it all. It is interesting for me to see this as I now know how little you knew. 🙂

Some tips I could offer the younger version of you would be:

  1. Be Kind. The world needs more kindness and compassion. Especially be kind to those who have been around in life longer than you have. They have had more time to experiences life’s up and downs. They have had more hurts, heartaches and loss and it wears on a person. These people need extra kindness and less animosity and judgment. Be kind.
  2. Be Gentle. “A gentle word, a kind look, a good-natured smile can work wonders and accomplish miracles”. William Hazlitt Being gentle is a virtue worth living by. Gentleness is a form of love expressed that softens, that opens, and that shows compassion. Practice gentleness on a daily basis.
  3. Let It Go. Let go of all of those ideals that do not serve you. Especially the need to be right and to know it all. Instead be open. Be inquisitive and be willing to listen, to really listen.
  4. Don’t Personalize Things! If you really want a fast track to peace, don’t personalize anything. You have no idea what another person is going through, a stranger or kin. Just love them within your heart and mind. So many heartaches have come from people assuming things were said for a certain reason or intended to hurt you. Just let that stuff go. It matters not. Know in your heart that you are okay and that are made of love and will return to love. You have been the one hurt and you have hurt others. Let it all go and turn to Love. And remember when people hurt you, they need extra love. Anyone who is in that much pain that they would hurt others needs more love. You know you’ve been there. 🙂 Stop the madness now.
  5. Forgive. Forgive often and forgive quickly. The sooner you forgive others and yourself the sooner you give the gift. The gift of for*give*ness. Give it often. “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you” Lewis B. Smedes … Free yourself sooner than later. 🙂
  6. Be YOU. Don’t wait your entire lifetime to be YOU. Your job is to be you. You were born perfectly YOU for a reason. 🙂 YOU are the gift to the world. Let that gift be opened and shared with the world. Lead by example. Show the way for others and encourage them to be themselves and to wear their uniqueness like the jewel that it is.

Well dearest little one, I could say more but I think this is suffice for this blog post today. Go now and be that best version of YOU that you are learning to share with the world so freely. I hope others are inspired to be themselves and that they go throughout their day today in JOY and Love. Blessings to all…

See Beauty Through The Words of Anne Frank

A quote by Anne Frank

I am at my cottage enJOYing the fall and the peacefulness of this quiet time of year out here. I was putting away the camp journals and was delighted to find this note I had put in the box that holds the journals.

What a fantastic reminder I thought, especially that this reminder came from Anne Frank. If you do not know who Anne Frank was, I found a blog post online that explains who she was. Here is the link.

I remember reading this book when I was a young girl. I find it so interesting to see that Anne was the exact same Life Path number in numerology that I am. A 30/3 or a 3. Threes are known to be optimistic, have large amounts of creative self-expression, great communicators, and are uplifting to others. This definitely describes Anne. Imagine that she could write a quote like this when was in hiding during the Holocaust.

Anne’s words remind us that we can always find beauty in life, We can always find the goodness. We simply need to look for it.

I hope you enJOYed this reminder about life as much as I did today. Blessings to all!
