♥ What Do HOPE & Lake Superior Have in Common? ♥

Everything is meant to be!

Several years ago I picked up these two candleholders at the Farmer’s Market. I gravitated to these two in particular. The pictures do not them justice. The colors are much more vibrant in real life and the HOPE one looks to have pretty purple amethyst at the bottom. These candles have gel in them and you use replaceable tea lights in them.

Flashback to when I got these. I did not have a Cancer Diagnosis and I did not have a place on Lake Superior!

Flash ahead. I was diagnosed in March of 2021 with stage 4 Incurable Colon Cancer and guess what the first thing I looked for? It was HOPE! I even Googled HOPE!

Flash ahead. I spend my days at my little lake house on the shores of Lake Superior ebbing and flowing to the needs of my body, mind and spirit at this time. I call this my ‘Healing House’.

This whole thing reminds me every day that I am exactly where I need to be and that I am SUPPOSED to be here on this particular journey at this particular time in my life and it helps me to accept everything with GRACE!

I feel this often. I feel like this is perfectly matched to my soul and what is supposed to happen. It gives me comfort. And when I am in comfort I am not in resistance. And when I am not in resistance I am not in pain. I am in PEACE.

I do not feel as though I am a victim and I trust that I am divinely guided on this journey now and always.

ᗯᕼᗩT ᗩᗷOᑌT YOᑌ?

Do you feel that things happen to you? Or for you? Do you trust that things are always working for your highest good? Or do you resist and struggle? I think this is where the word ‘Faith’ would come into play. We need to have faith that our soul knows the reasons we call to us experiences on this journey called LIFE. Life is sweeter because of the hardships, although not easy. I hope that when you are in your times of struggle you too can keep your faith and use grace as a conduit for peace.

💎💎💎I love you all now and to eternity.💎💎💎

Why Not UNchoose?

Maggie, no matter the temptation, you no longer think or say, “I’m anxious,” “I’m hurt,” or “I’m angry.” Because each of these feelings are choices, that can be unchosen, instead of reinforced. And you will be amazed,   The Universe This was my beautiful note from the Universe the other morning and I quite loved it.…

What I Want At This Time In My Life

Peace

My Journey With A Stage IV Cancer Diagnosis

After 9 months of living with a diagnosis of apparent Uncurable Cancer according to medical diagnostics and opinion, I have come to a few conclusions on what works for me.

What I really want and need each day is PEACE…. peace of mind, peaceful rest, and peace within my heart.

I don’t feel like I need to be known as ‘Brave’ or as a ‘Fighter’, although I acknowledge that I am indeed both of those things.

What is important to me is for me to be at ✌ PEACE.

How Do I achieve this?

So how do I achieve this? I do it first and foremost by accepting what is.

I have this diagnosis. Yes I do. I cannot resist what is because when I do that I am in resistance and in the frequency of fear, which are two places that I don’t want to be.

So I accept what is, I expect the best, I appreciate everything and I have gratitude for whatever I can latch onto. This my friends gives me the peace I seek.

When I lay my head to rest at night I no longer worry about the troubles of the earthly world anymore. They no longer seem as important to me. I recognize that I am a spiritual and infinite being.

It is interesting because I also no longer care about things that I thought I would care about. For example, when I die cremation or burial? I don’t care. What color or type of casket? I don’t care. And on and on my list goes….

What I do care about is as you know, is having PEACE and JOY.

Did I laugh today? Wow, that orange was so delicious. Look at the kindness shown to me today. I had energy to write a blog post today. Yay! I sat in someone’s presence and we just loved each other with no judgment or hidden agenda. People sang to me. I have an appetite even if for a moment. Bella is purring and lying on top of me as I see Sparkle dust all the way up to the ceiling (true story). I am so loved. I love so much.

Sweet juicy luscious oranges…. a gift from the Gods.

There have been so many gifts that I have received on this journey and I am so grateful for them.

What About You My Friends?

It is my wish that others who choose to do so, benefit in some way from these insights. We put so much energy into our earthly journeys and roles, but what is truly important for YOU?

Can you seek peace now? Are some things really worth the so called fight? Where does your JOY come from?

Go within. This is where you will find your answers and I promise you they never appear from fear and strife but they always show themselves when peace is present.

I love you all!

A Happy Day on My Cancer Journey

So today I had a phone appointment with my ‘special’ doctor and one of my favorite docs at the cancer clinic, Dr. Kathy Simpson, whom I love! We were scheduled to go over my recent blood work analysis and to check in on any symptoms, new developments, and such.

Well it was a HAPPY day. First let me premise this by saying, this is very much a journey and managing cancer is a process… a journey. And along these journeys it is good to have markers and milestones and today was one for me… a good one.

My blood work came back perfect! What I am doing is working! Without going into the details of my diagnosis, this amazing blood work reading is AWESOME and supports me in that what I am doing with my natural healing protocols along with the support of all of you, is working! Your loving kindness, your prayers, your holding me in the light and seeing me in perfect health, it is working!!!!

I cry tears of happiness but these tears are not only for me, they are for everyone who is dealing with serious illness…. it is a sign of HOPE and ENCOURAGMENT.

And I know my journey will continue and we never know what tomorrow brings but for today I will take today’s win and I will show appreciation for it! I will focus on the good and I will continue to have HOPE! YES!!!

Lastly, I want to give a shout out to this amazing doctor, Dr. Simpson, who said this to me after I thanked her again for her support…. She said: “Whatever marathon path you are choosing, I support you fully”. This spoke volumes to me and made me feel very supported. I am so grateful for all of the amazing people on my team including YOU, if you are reading this. Thank you all! Support is a HUGE piece of the puzzle.

It is my Hope to one day share my full story from the side of complete healing and return to perfect balance in my body, mind and spirit so that others know that it can be done and that they can play an important role in their own healing.

I am sending you all so much LOVE!!!!

And thank you for celebrating today’s win with me. 🙂

My Journey With Cancer

Hello Everyone!

If you have noticed that my blogging has not been as often, it is because in March, which is oddly enough Colon Cancer Awareness Month, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. 🙂

I don’t even like to use the word ‘cancer’ as it just has such a negative frequency to it, but I am purposely using it in my blog posts because I want people to be able to find my posts if they Google the word ‘Cancer’. I want to be a light for others who are also travelling on this journey.

When you are diagnosed with the big ‘C’ it is of course very scary and you often turn to Google for help. The biggest thing that anyone diagnosed needs right off the bat is HOPE and sometimes that is not easy to find out there.

Cancer does not have to be a death sentence. It can be an entry into the next grand and glorious phase of your life, but in order for that to happen, one must have HOPE and to be of a positive mindset. This of course must be done at one of the most likely challenging times in one’s life and although not easy it is possible because anything is possible if you believe 🙂

It is my intention to blog throughout my journey and hope that I help others also. And because I have more than one blog I wanted to make everyone here aware that I will also be blogging a lot on my Maggie’s Vitamins Blog in a category called “Cancer”, so you can find posts there as well.

Here is the link:

If you are reading this today I want to thank you for being in my life and supporting me on my journey and if you have newly landed here I thank you for being here. Know that you are never alone 🙂

One of the thoughts I will leave all of you with today, is to make sure that you are doing what you love even if in a small way in your day. Since my diagnosis I am very clear on what is important to me and I am making sure that I do that. For example, writing is one of those things for me and thus this blog post. 🙂 My soul knows more than ever that it is important to do those things that bring us JOY. I hope you do those too!

And here is a link to my post around my recent cancer diagnosis if you are interested in reading that 🙂

In Your Darkest Hour or Your Weakest Moment You May Just Find Peace

When I think of death, I think of peace and stillness…. that purely glorious and tranquil space that you have no words for because none will be needed.

Fortunately, one of the things that I have recently discovered about life and living, is that you can reach that type of peace right inside of life and interestingly enough you may just discover it at your darkest hour, your weakest moment or when your pain is the greatest.

Maybe you are going through struggle or strife or maybe your world just turned upside down seemingly overnight. Life can slap us sometimes and from all angles. This IS life.

But do you want to know the sweetness about this? It is here in that very moment, when peace can be found. Now this is just my opinion and from my own experience, but I believe it is because when you just stop struggling, or when you feel you can’t bear another moment or more news, that is when you stop resisting and there it is! There is the peace. Wow. Surprise and Hello and Welcome!

And then the peace says to you:

“I have always been here for you but you were too busy to see me. You were too busy trying to get anywhere but here… but little one I have found you now and may you enJOY this peace that surrounds you. May you relish in it and know that I am always here for you.

I hope that no matter what you are going through that you know that peace can find you. I promise you. It is when we stop searching…. it comes and it will come when you need it most if you are open to receive it.

I send you nothing but Blessings….

In Love & Light….

Breaking Down To Break Through

Quote by Maggie Holbik: “Sometimes in life we fall down or even hit rock bottom because we are meant to find something there”. #trust

Life has its ups and downs and it is interesting indeed. In fact the ebb and flow of life is what makes in interesting. :=)

Hitting Rock Bottom

However, there are times where we fall or hit our bottom. Whether it is through the loss of loved ones, addictions, illness, job loss, breakups, trauma, or just anything that we feel derails us and brings us to our knees.

Silhouette illustration of a man praying on his knee outside at beautiful landscape

In life we all experience these to one degree or another, or our loved ones and friends and colleagues do, because this is life.

These derailing times can be hard, very hard.

However, as a person who loves to offer HOPE and inspiration, I reflected on the quote I made above, and I could indeed find many examples and stories of people that I know who have shared their stories of how their rock bottom led them to a new chapter in their life and often times that new chapter was a beautiful one.

I remember reading somewhere or hearing someone say “When you throw your hands up in the air and give up, that is the best thing to happen”. Why? Because it means we stop the fight and we ‘break down to break through”. This is where the magic happens because we no longer are in resistance.

The Sweetness of All Of It

Through my years of my own experiences and hardships, my coaching of others and my own relationships, I have taken from these tough experiences, the ‘sweetness’. What do I mean by the sweetness?

I mean things like:

. When we have had an illness and we recover or it gets better, we no longer take our health for granted.

. When we lose someone we love, we are reminded to cherish those who are still here on earth next to us.

. When we give up our fight with our addiction(s) and find freedom.

. When we have learned boundaries that were necessary and can now feel safe and even experience JOY from this.

. When we decide that we have more power over our circumstances than we once thought, it brings freedom and peace of mind.

. When a relationship ends and we start the real relationship with ourselves and understand self-love.

. When we move or move on and find new things to cherish and new things to experience.

These are just a few examples of ‘the sweetness’ and I am sure you can come up with some of your own too. 🙂

I hope that this post has offered you something, whether it is insight, strength, HOPE, or anything at all that helps. That would make MY heart happy.

And as always, if you are struggling and need help, please reach out. It takes strength and courage to reach out and I know that you have that. I believe in you.

With Much Love,

Maggie

Musings Around May 4th, 2020….

🆃🅷🅸🆂 🅸🆂 🆂🆄🅲🅷 🅶🅾🅾🅳 🅽🅴🆆🆂!

So I am a very, very, intuitive person. I think we all are and if we embrace our intuition and work with it, we can have beautiful results.

So, with that being said, I am going to share something with you all here. Last night was considered one of the peak nights for the recent meteor showers, along with an amazing moon. And…………..

I intuitively know that something shifted here on planet earth. Today I am hearing of all kinds of great news stories like people receiving money that they had been waiting on, businesses planning for their reopening, people experiencing optimism, birds chirping and singing their glorious songs, new HOPE, people enthusiastic for the new versions of themselves that they are creating thanks to quarantine, new ideas, new creativity and more!

I just had to share this 𝒥🌺𝒴 with you today because I know there have been and are challenging times for many of us at this time. So when I hear and more importantly when I FEEL this shift happening, I want to shout it from the mountain tops.

I hope that you too feel this new energy and that you get excited about it as well. 🙂

Blessings to all.

I took this picture last night on Lake Superior, in Canada. I am not sure if that is a meteor trail or train or whatever it might be called, but I love the picture regardless.

Have a great day everyone.

Squeeze Out The ♥ JOY ♥ Even in Tough Times

I shared a quote on Facebook today, along with some additional thoughts of my own.

Here was the quote:

“Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enJOY and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way.” Anonymous

My addition to it:

And if you want to take it to the next level, try to EnJOY it even when it is not so called “Good” … we can never get lost time back so let’s squeeze as much JOY out of EVERY moment that we can even when it is challenging. When it seems hard to do, look for things to be grateful for, think of who you Love and who Loves you, Smile at Beautiful memories, send Inspiration and Hope to others, listen to Happy music, take pictures of the sky, notice how blue the sky is, Love up your pet, drink a glass of water all while appreciating that you have clean water to drink, …… the list is endless. Use your internal power and focus wisely.

Can you add to this list? Why not get out a pen and paper or grab your phone and use your Note feature to jot down some more things. I promise you if you do, you will feel so good and that sounds pretty darn good right about now, doesn’t it? 🙂

Bittersweet & Finding Sweetness at This Time in History…..

“I searched among her crayons for a color that represented autumn and pulled out an orange-toned crayon, never used. It read “Bittersweet,” and I wondered why that particular name. Autumn was my favorite time of year… I was always ready for the change. I guess some people didn’t see it that way. Some people wanted to cling to summer… I loved both seasons, but I thought no one would ever call spring bittersweet, even though it was just another change, another new cycle, an end to one season and a beginning for another in an endless, never-ending spiral.”
― Janet Rebhan,

I ran across this quote today that reminded me of what we are going through in the world right now. It truly is Bittersweet. I know a lot of people are in fear right now but there is so much goodness happening too!

We are getting clearer on who we are and what is important. We are stepping up to the plate of humanity and serving others. We are learning to look through the eyes of Love for the entire world. We are all collectively thinking of new horizons that we will be so grateful for.

Just as the changes of the seasons throughout the year and the seasons of our life can be bittersweet, so is this time we are in.

I encourage you to look for the Sweet. As I typed this my daughter popped in to say hi to me and I looked at her sweet face and I knew what it all meant.

Sweet Sivanna Rose

Look for the sweetness. It is always there if you look.

I also this today in a Facebook Post that my friend Meredith Ann Deasley shared. Meredith is a Certified Life Coach, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Spiritual Vitality Expert!

This is what I saw and it Inspired me!

She shared her notes for the day and this is a snippet from them. I love it!

It says in regard to how she sees herself:

“The way I taught myself to turn every negative into a positive from a young age. (and people think I’m naive! hee hee) Meredith Ann Deasley

Well I have to say I loved that. I am seeing so much positive in all that is happening and I continue to do so. Of course I have compassion and empathy for others and I understand some people’s anxiety is running high, but I do think we can choose to see Goodness and Sweetness and I hope that you look for and enJOY the Sweetness too. It is even sweeter at times like this because we appreciate it more. 🙂
