More on ForGIVEness

“The path of forgiveness takes us back into ourselves, where the source of all conflict begins.” Michael Dawson

Peace starts within. The fastest track to peace, is through forgiveness.

If you are in pain and feel some forgiveness for yourself would help, try this exercise:

Throughout your days find examples or times when you can practice forgiving yourself. Just think of it like a school lesson or an activity that your are participating in rather than judging or evaluating why you feel you shouldn’t be forgiven.

And these can be little things. For example, you say that you are going to do something that day and you end up not doing it. Maybe it was like me today saying “I am going to get the bedroom organized the way I want it”, and I didn’t complete that task. This is a perfect example of a way to practice forgiveness. I am telling myself right now that it is okay that you didn’t get that done. Relax Maggie it’s okay. It’s okay.

I know this might sound silly but the more ‘practice’ you can have forgiving even yourself, the more you work the forgiveness muscle and it becomes easier to forgive and it can happen quicker.

And then you can practice forgiving others and that too becomes easier. It starts to feel like taking off an icky coat or cloak that you are wearing and you don’t want to wear it anymore!

When we forgive we are FREE! I have written before on the power of forGIVEness and you can read those posts here. Perhaps you will find them helpful.

And if you are having a hard time today for whatever reason, I am right now sending you Love and Support. Stay strong and may peace be with you.

There Are NO Mistakesโข – Worry Not! โ™ฅโ˜ฎโ™ฅ

A mistake is just another way of doing things.

Me: Maggie Holbik ๐Ÿ™‚

I like to think there are no mistakes. Everything that we experience is just that … an experience. We experience something and then we choose and decide if we wish to experience it again.

I like to think of these ‘experiences’ as gifts to show me what I no longer want in my life or what I want to add more of into my life. Pretty simple right? โ™ฅ And it is. โ™ฅ

The least amount of time we spend living with regret or remorse, the more time we have to fast track in the things we want and that bring us more โ™ฅ JOY โ™ฅ

I know it is not always easy, especially when we are in fear or emotional pain, but I think by even declaring or understanding this concept, it helps. At least it does for me and I hope it does for you too.

So that’s all for today. Have an amazing day now or if you are reading this in the future. And if you are reading this in the future future and I am no longer in and of this world know that my spirit has your back ๐Ÿ™‚

Give Yourself “The Gift”

With the holidays fast approaching why not start thinking about a gift that you would like to give yourself this holiday season? I bet you are already thinking or have already gotten gifts for other people in your life. I bet you are super kind to others and are always thinking of them and how to make their lives happier, better, and more enJOYable. But what about you? What about a gift for you?

And the gift I am talking about for you needs no wrapping paper, is environmentally friendly, and when you receive and use the gift you give yourself, it helps you and the entire world! Now how is that for an awesome gift? ๐Ÿ™‚

What is the Gift? It’s the gift of whatever you need to give yourself to release any emotional pain that you have. Maybe it’s the gift of compassion or the gift of forgiveness or the gift of don’t be too hard on yourself. Whatever it is, it is important that you give yourself the gift and that you receive it with open and loving arms. And by giving to yourself, you have more to give. As the saying goes “fill up your own cup first”. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you take up my suggestion and that you carry your gift in your heart every day moving forward in your life. Life is meant to be JOYous and sometimes we are the very ones who block our channel for JOY by beating ourselves up or by not forgiving ourselves or whatever else we do that continues the cycle of personal pain.

May your heart be light, your holiday JOYous, and always remember some of the best gifts don’t come under the tree. ๐Ÿ™‚

Be The First & Be Free~!

“The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. The first to forgive is the happiest”. – UNKNOWN

“The first to forget is the happiest”… WOW!

I saw this picture quote on Facebook this morning and it rocked my world. It made me reflect on these statements.

Am I good at apologizing? Am I good at forgiving? How about forgetting?

I won’t share with you all of my thoughts around this, but I will tell you that this post has inspired me to look at all of these in my own life.

I think my favorite is indeed the last one. Over the years, I have gotten better at forgetting. I am at a place that I really don’t care about yesterday. I care about right now and what I am creating in my life now and what I will enJOY tomorrow.

I often say… if something hurt me in the past already, why oh why would I ever let it hurt me again today, in the Now? No way! I’m not giving up the beauty of today because it’s being robbed from me by yesterday or yesteryear. I have control over how I let yesterday or thoughts of yesterday affect me today.

Full speed ahead. In JOY and LOVE. And I will work more on those first two points too! I want freedom and I want JOY in my life. What about YOU?

The Power of For-GIVE-Ness

Lately I have been pondering on both the word and the power of forgiveness. When you break the word down, it is really about giving. What do we give when we forgive?

We give love, hope, compassion, empathy, and we hold space for healing. Now, this can be for others or for ourselves. I have come to a place where I am pretty comfortable in the forgiveness department when it comes to others because I figured it out long ago, when I forgive I feel better. I’m pretty selfish that way LOL!

Forgiving Yourself

However, forgiving oneself sometimes takes on a daily challenge. A few weeks ago I was thinking what if we looked at each day as a chance to forGIVE ourselves each day like a goal! Like we get to GIVE ourselves some LOVE and COMPASSION. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค โค โค

When I looked at it this way, I started to kind of like it. It was like okay, let’s bring on some forgiveness here for myself for whatever. This is a good thing. Again selfish, I know. My bad. ๐Ÿ™‚

My spiritual and soul self knows that there is nothing to forgive, which is cool too, but my human self falls into the humanness stuff, so I work at forgiving myself when necessary. I kind of look at it this way, the sooner I forgive the faster I can raise my frequency and be a light for others, so I just do it now!

Of course, some days are easier than others and on a lot of days there is no need, but when the occasion arises to forgive, I try and take it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I like the words of Marissa Peer “To make mistakes is human but to forGIVE yourself is divine.”

I think one of the greatest gifts we can give our children and our loved ones, or anyone in our lives really, is the example of the ability to forgive. It is a gift that is like none other. I hope that you take an opportunity today to forGIVE yourself if you feel you need to and to enJOY the gift that the experience offers.

The Art of Instant Forgiveness

A person reads alone in the morning forest

Anita Moorjani, author of โ€œDying to be Meโ€ and more recently โ€œWhat if THIS is Heavenโ€, on a recent FB Live Video had shared the concept of Self-Love rather than Self-Sacrifice. We are all good in the self-sacrifice department, but many of us fall down in the self-love arena, wouldn’t you agree?

I think the message of more self-love is an ever-important message, especially for the women of the world, who tend to take care of the needs of everyone else first and foremost.

One of the ways I personally am trying to practice self-love is by applying personal forgiveness. For example, when I have a thought such as I should not have said that, or did I really do that, or whatever thought that pops to mind that causes me feelings of unworthiness, regret, guilt, or shame, etc., I try to apply what I now call โ€œInstant Forgivenessโ€.

In An Instant!

Lately I have been getting a profound understanding of the power of โ€˜in an instantโ€™. This most likely stems from technology as in sending an email or a photo from one of my devices and seeing it received on another, at what seems to be the exact same time or instant. The witnessing of this has opened my mind and instilled a knowing in me that things can indeed happen instantly. I have come to believe that healing, forgiveness or letting go of something whether itโ€™s a thought, a belief or a pattern does not have to be a long drawn out process. We can forgive ourselves in an instant if we make that our intention. Just think of that email sent across the world, in an instant and you know anything is possible… in an instant. ๐Ÿ™‚

Self-Love

Everyday I am working on ways to practice more self-love. One of the best ways I have found is to take time to read from books like Anitaโ€™s current book, โ€œWhat if THIS were Heaven?โ€. One of my favorite quotes from the book so far, is a message that was given to her when she found she had once again gotten lost in everyoneโ€™s pain and the woes of the world. It goes like this โ€œRemember your only work is to love yourself, value yourself, and embody the truth of self-worth and self-love so that you can be love in action. That is true service, to yourself and to those around you.โ€

So today I leave you with the concept of โ€œInstant Forgivenessโ€ for yourself and others because the moment we forgive, we give to ourselves the gift of the release of pain and suffering. Let us forgive instantly and often so we can be the love that the world so needs right now.ย  Will you join me by practicing Instant Forgiveness and more Self-Love? Let’s do it for the world, shall we? ๐Ÿ™‚
