The Smell of Sunshine

For years I have loved the ‘smell of sunshine’. I have not researched it much, but what I have, Googled, tells me there is no such thing. I don’t believe this however. 🙂

I know and love the smell of sunshine!

When the sun shines on items, even through a window, eventually a beautiful smell is created and the only way to describe this scent is heavenly! I have a pink blanket on the end of my bed at my beach house, which gets a lot of sunshine everyday that it’s sunny, and the smell is divine. It’s like fresh air and sunshine combined.

Today I was telling my friend once again about the smell of sunshine and how much I love it. I asked her if she had ever heard of this and she said “No”. So I had her smell this throw that is on one of the chairs here that gets sunshine every morning. Sure enough she was able to smell what I was talking about and and she agreed with me completely!!! This smell is divine!

I encourage you to try smelling the sunshine in your house. It works best when it is cast on things that are made out of cotton or terry cloth. Natural fibers seem to soak up that sunshine the best! 🙂

6 Easy Ways to Lower Your Stress

6 Ways To Ramp Up Your Positive Vibe & Lower Your Stress!

Stress is the number one killer ... hands down. It affects every part of our being and our health and is a contributing factor to all disease in the body and mind. The best thing we can do to alleviate stress is to work at ramping up the positive and feel good side of our lives. Here are six ways to do that.

Be Grateful

An old Jewish saying recommends that we “bless one thousand things every day”. The more we bless the more we practice gratitude as well. They go hand and hand. From my own research, I have learned and believe, that Blessing something is the highest frequency available to us. Blessing something or someone really taps into the frequency of the highest vibration of all and has tremendous benefits.

Practice gratitude from the moment you arise in the morning until your head hits the pillow at night. Actively find things to be grateful for. The pillow beneath your head, the dishes you need to wash because you indeed have food to eat, the way you can walk by yourself to the bathroom… there are always things to find to be grateful for.

  • Be Aware Of Your Negative Thoughts

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention, usually to your breath or your thoughts. Mindful breathing is often used to control stress, but mindful thinking can lead to a more positive life. We tend to take our thoughts for granted but they can still make a difference as they float through our minds.

I am very mindful and careful of the thoughts I think and use. I totally get that thoughts are tools that can create or destroy. I pick very wisely.

I control my thoughts, they don’t control me

  • Introduce Positive Thoughts

The staff at The Mayo Clinic point out that just like our thoughts can upset us when we don’t notice them creeping up, but we can also purposely introduce thoughts that make ourselves feel better. Trying to replace negative thoughts from our subconscious with positive thoughts from our conscious mind can be a very valuable tool.

I encourage my clients who struggle with negative thoughts, to have handy, positive replacement thoughts that they can draw upon when needed. The most powerful type of replacement thought are ones that also induce immediate gratitude as well. For example, have a thought ready about how you love your child, or pet, or even your favorite sweater and how it warms you and comforts you! All positive thoughts count.

  • Avoid Negative

Just do it! If you truly want to be happier and to lower your stress, refuse to partake in negative experiences that you have control over. Stop watching the news, ditch the FB friends or friends that are chronic complainers who always are finding fault with the city, the government, the neighbor, the etc. etc. etc. Who has time for this if they are trying to be stress free and happier? For me, I choose JOY! I say it over and over again and you will see it is a common thread in my blogging as well. I shout it from the rooftops “I CHOOSE JOY AND PEACE”!!!!! 🙂

  • Look At Challenges As Opportunities

An article by author Paul Sloane published by Lifehack.org recommends looking at potential challenges or setbacks as opportunities to go in another direction. We tend to look at where we are as the culmination of a lot of hard work and so when things don’t go our way we feel like that work was for nothing. What if we looked at it in a different way? I offer you the thought that we have choices and choices mean change. We can always re-choose, re-group and decide again and we do this by looking at where we came from, or where we currently are, and then re-adjusting our direction because we realize we now choose differently. There are no mistakes, just experiences and experiences lead us to the new ones by helping us to discern the next step for us!

  • Spend Time In “Input Mode”

A 2016 article by Inc. points out that we are either in “input” mode or “output” mode. Output mode is when we are doing things for others, or making things, like when we are at work or doing things for our family and friends. Input mode is when we are doing things for ourselves like reading books, exercise, listening to positive materials and such. We can become overwhelmed and resentful when we spend too much time in output mode and not enough time practicing self-care and doing things to make us feeling fulfilled, so be sure to incorporate positive inbound activities that make you feel good and supported.

I hope you find these 6 tips helpful. 🙂

Time Is a Currency So Use It Wisely

It’s that time of year where we move our clocks ahead one hour. Usually in the fall when the time goes back, I wait till the next day before I change any clocks. I love looking at my clocks around the house, and then saying “No, wait it’s only this time”. I feel like a kid in a candy store and the candy is time. 🙂

In the spring I turn the clocks back the night prior so that I get right into the groove of that lost hour right away.

I think most of us really notice ‘losing that hour’ and it takes awhile to adjust. This got me thinking, if we notice one hour lost in one day in one year, imagine if we paid attention to the other hours of time we lose all year long? What do I mean by this? I am referring to all of the hours in the day that we do things like:

Being angry

Being frustrated

Worrying about things we cannot control

Being consumed with fear

Feeling victimized or disempowered

Etc.

You get the idea here. In every moment and in every day we have a choice as to how we use our time and what is most important about that is how we ‘energetically’ use our time. Do you use this energetic time to uplift and enhance your life and life force? Or do you use these moment s of time to create turmoil and strife in your day?

I invite you to ponder on how much time you lose that could be put to better use. Personally I choose JOY as much as possible and so I guard my energetic intention and time usage. My peace of mind and solace are worth more to me that trading that time for frustration or bitterness or anger or resentment. I pick PEACE! Plain and simple.

Time is a currency and that means we are always trading it for something. I hope you make trades that bring you the most JOY for the time you are giving up for it. LIfe is fleeting.

I just watched a show on Gaia “Yogi Paths” and this quote from one of the speakers (not sure of his name) but it fits this thought perfectly. “The hallmark of a genius is adaptability”. By adapting how we energetically consume and use our time, is a true sign of adaptability.

Blessings to all and I hope you are en-JOY-ing your Sunday!

A Handy Go-To for Dealing with Stress

One of the things I have learned about putting things out to the universe or praying or whatever you want to call it, is that it works but there are ways that work better than others.

Today I will share my favorite go-to prayer that I use often and share with others often.

We all go through stressful situations in life. It’s not a matter of if we will, we will!!! Count on it! It is how we transition through these times that calls for the best use of our time and energy.

So without further adieu here is my go-to:

“Thank you God/Universe/Jesus/Source/You Fill in the Blank/ for already solving this problem for me.” And then you let it go! What we hold in our field with fear and dread stays attached to us and attracts more! This is why you want to declare that the problem or situation has been resolved and do so with Gratitude!  When you say it, put in lots of grateful feelings along with the words and mean it! And then you release it!

How do you let your problem go? You do whatever it takes to shift your attention off of it.  Go to a movie, read a positive book, watch a video that raises your vibe, talk to a friend about ‘something else’, not the problem, tell a new story about how things ARE working out for you, etc. etc. Do whatever you must do to detach and shift your energetic and emotional attention to the matter. And then you let the Source that you believe in, solve your problem. It is important to note, that your problem cannot be solved if you keep putting out the energies that are associated with what you don’t want!

So in a nutshell we say the prayer acting as if the problem has already been solved, we do so with mucho gratitude and then we let it go!

I hope you find this helpful and also helpful to know that we all go through stressful times in life. You are not alone.

In Love & Light

Maggie 🙂

What Is Numerology

When I first learned of this ancient science, my life truly changed for the better. I remember the moment distinctly. Someone sent me this:

“Those on the 30/3 life path are here to work through issues of expression and sensitivity, overcoming self-doubt to express themselves and use their inner gifts to encourage, uplift, and inspire others.”

It comes from Dan Millman’s book “THE LIFE YOU WERE BORN TO LIVE”:  A Guide to Finding Your Life Purpose, and I happen to be a Lifepath 30/3.

When I read that passage my whole life made sense! I understood myself and I really ‘got who I was’. It was like my life flashing before my eyes. 😊

Anyhow, from that moment on I became fascinated with numerology and I began to study it. To this day I resonate with this art form involving the frequency of numbers. Everything has an energetic frequency and so do numbers.  Each number has a unique vibration, giving it certain properties. These properties can shed light onto a person’s behavior or predict whether romantic partners are compatible. Numerological analysis can determine a person’s soul urgings and tendencies. Recurring numbers can offer clues into how the world works or the significance of people and events. There are so many people today seeing recurring number frequencies on a daily basis. For example 11 11, 333, 444, etc.

Pythagorus, the mathematician born in 570 BC, developed the Pythagorean theorem and that is what most people know him for, but he also developed and taught a system for numerology.

If you would like to explore your own numbers and what they might mean I do offer numerology reports.  There are 3 to choose from:

  • Life Path Overview
  • Yearly Forecast
  • Relationship Compatibility Report

You can learn more at www.MaggiesNumbers.com

I love using tools like numerology to help myself and others to discover more personal insight into what moves their soul and why.
