I love this window. Everytime I look at the view outside, it’s like looking at or through a picture frame. I am enjoying seeing the different seasons through it
Yesterday I made this little video to en-JOY after the snow and ice storm. 🙂

I just love the shirts that my granddaughter (left) and my daughter (right) have on in this picture!
“CHOOSE and Be Happy!” Wow! I think these shirts are awesome. One of my favorite resources that I both go to often and recommend to people often, is from Bonnie Ware’s Book about the top five regrets of the dying. You can see an article with reference to the top 5 regrets here: Article on Bonnie’s Wares Top Five Regrets of the Dying
With a new year coming, why not decide that 2019 is going to be the year you opt in for choosing happiness? We make choices in every second, every minute and every hour of our day. Choose Happiness I say! Life is so much easier and much more fun this way. Imagine waiting until your death bed or last breath to realize it was a CHOICE. Choose NOW! 🙂 And remember Happiness is like a muscle, the more you use it, the bigger it gets! And that’s a good thing. 🙂

The more I seek beauty, the more it seeks me. This breathtaking photo found me this morning and Oh what a glorious morning it was!!!
Around this time of year I start to think about new solutions for the New Year. Not re-solutions but more so adding in more enhancements to my Life List. I ran across this post in my Facebook memories today an I loved it all over again! It is about my daughter who was 11 at the time.
I love Sivanna’s attitude and I share the same. I have learned that the secret to having what you want is knowing you already do! And when you really ‘feel’ that way you attract in more of that which you desire.
So I don’t think of a new year as something I have to go into thinking I have to change something or give something up. Instead I think what can I add in more of? What can I add in more of to make me smile more, love more, feel better more, have more JOY, more passion, more health, more peace of mind, more… more… more…. not give up, give up… 🙂
When we start the New Year from a place of being happy now, we can attract more happiness. What we seek ALWAYS seeks us.
I am wishing all of you a wonder-filled and JOYous New Year of your choosing. 🙂

I have put together a short video of a few pictures I took today following our snow and ice storm… very beautiful!
I was thinking today about people who react to situations and cause themselves and others pain. It got me thinking that there are two kinds of people. Those who react and those who adapt.
Reactors often harbor anger and their blood tends to boil. Think high blood pressure and the blood rising and boiling over. Adapters, on the other hand, go with the flow, and adapt their reactions, rather than react to them. This gives them quite the advantage as they are in charge of their own power by adapting versus reacting.
I am all about personal empowerment for myself and also for others when I am coaching tham. When we are personally empowered, we feel MORE in control and we are LESS affected by others, situations, the weather, challenges etc. Learning to adapt and even taking situations to the next level and actually embracing them, truly puts us in the driver’s seat!
For example we had a huge snow and ice storm here last night and into the morning. This landed us a lot of snow and our power went out too!
I had lots of snow to shovel and I decided to embrace it and more importantly to actually en-JOY it. I was grateful that I am healthy enough to shovel the snow and that I can. So while I was out there doing what I needed to do, I saw so much beauty around me like this picture with the bluest sky I’ve ever seen.
I would put down my shovel, take a picture and delight in the glorious surroundings. I also was very grateful for where I live. It crossed my mind that I wouldn’t change a thing because I have already decided that Canada is where I want to live, otherwise I would have moved already. 🙂 And with living in the centre of Canada we get winters like this. It’s all good. It was so much better to embrace and en-JOY then to react and feel frustrated and even angry at the weather.
And heck, my positive thinking worked so well that by the time I was finished my first round of shoveling, the power came back on and a neighbor came by with a snow blower lent to him by another neighbor and he and his Dad helped me with round 2 🙂 I then had even more gratitude and was whistling a happy tune for the day. What a great day it is!

Mindfulness is a state of being that allows one to both connect with and be present with self and the environment around them. It is a way of being centered or grounded and connected.
Think of mindfulness as a moment by moment connection to thoughts, feelings, perceptions, senses, and outside stimuli. This concept may sound stimulating but it is actually the opposite. Mindfulness allows us to detach from judgement or conditional thinking. It is more like becoming an observer; an observer of self and the things and experiences around us.
Mindfulness can be experienced in many ways. One way is through meditation. Meditation allows the stream of consciousness to flow and float on by as the observer (You), silently watches or listens. This is a fine example of mindfulness.
Another easy way to practice mindfulness is when walking. Purposely experience and be aware of each step you take. A great place to practice this is in a park or in the wilderness. Observe yourself planting your foot down each time you take a step. Feel the earth beneath you, listen to the sound the step makes, feel your foot connect to the earth, observe how the ground feels beneath your foot, and observe the overall experience.
One of my favorite mindfulness exercises is with food. Take a piece of chocolate for example. Everybody loves chocolate. Take a bite of chocolate and truly experience it. Feel the texture of the chocolate as it melts in your mouth, delight in the taste, savour the flavour, and connect with the experience one bite at a time. Mindful eating is a very healthy addition to one’s lifestyle as it lets the body appreciate and be thankful for the food, especially when it involves nutritious and life enhancing foods full like fruits and vegetables. When one connects to the energy of ‘live foods’ they provide even more life-giving energy and their benefits are increased.
One way that I use mindfulness is by reminding myself to slow down, watch my steps, and to not rush when I am going somewhere, especially in increment weather. One wrong move can have long term complications, so I remind myself often to move mindfully.
There are countless ways to practice mindfulness, but I will leave you with the most important thought, which is to have fun with it and en-JOY the practice of mindfulness.

Tonight I had a digital conversation with a coaching client and it brought up a very important topic, one that I think is important for all of us when we need to heal and move forward in life.
I will call my client Rose. We were discussing some pain around Rose and her feelings towards her departed mother. When Rose described to me the way her mother was in her actions, the behaviour that Rose found hurtful and negative, I asked Rose if she herself had ever behaved this way or could be seen this way. She responded with a “Yes”.
I then asked Rose to imagine her own child or children saying this about her 20 years from now. I then told her that she might feel like saying something like this in response “but you don’t understand why I felt like this, please don’t judge me, I need love actually”…
Rose was moved by this and started to shift the way she saw her mother. I also suggested she have compassion for her mother and to energetically hold her mother in her arms and tell her that she did not understand why she did or said the things she did that caused Rose pain, but that she would try to have compassion and understanding for her mother.
I suggested that Rose turn her loathing into love so that she, Rose, could release her own pain.
I also suggested to Rose that she see her Mom as a baby, a young girl, a woman her own age feeling the very inadequacies and pain that Rose herself now feels, and to see her mom as a vulnerable person rather than the mean person Rose saw from her own personalization of her mother that caused HER pain.
I also suggested to Rose that it is way easier to opt for anger and resentment than to Rise Above to Love, but Love will be what sets her free. Anger, blame and resentment are easy opt-ins for most people. I suggested to Rose that she had both the capacity and the space to rise above to love and that if her mother had felt love, understanding and felt supported in life, she would not have acted in the manner she had. People full of love do not hurt others. Hurt people hurt others.
Rose asked me if by shifting the way she saw her Mom did this mean she was she agreeing with what her mother did to her or how horribly she had treated her. I told her No and that she was meeting the situation with understanding at a higher level, and that she was having compassion for her mother. I asked Rose directly, if she really thought her mother would have behaved like that if she had felt good about herself, if she had felt loved and personally empowered. Rose answered “I guess not. I never thought about it like that”.
We concluded our conversation with Rose’s homework of holding her mother in her arms,in her mind, so that Rose could expand her own heart and include her Mom and herself, because what we give out we get back. I also reminded Rose that love can heal even after death and that if Rose wanted to heal and be free from pain, this would be of great benefit to her.
What about you? Who do you need to need to Rise Above to Love for? Maybe it’s a person or a situation. When you can expand your heart to shift the way you see the person or situation, and have compassion you will gain compassion and love for yourself too. Everyone wins here. 🙂

“All human life has its seasons and cycles, and no one’s personal chaos can be permanent. Winter, after all, gives way to spring and summer, though sometimes when branches stay dark and the earth cracks with ice, one thinks they will never come, that spring, and that summer, but they do, and always.: — Truman Capote.
Is this a hard time of year for you? Maybe you’ve lost a loved one or multiple loved ones or maybe you are alone, or you have had health issues, or this year has been very challenging for you. Whatever the case may be, remember that the sun always sets and better yet, it always rises again. There is always the HOPE of a new day, a new season and a new reason to keep the faith that things will get better.
Here are some ideas to help you shift your sadness, loneliness or pain.
When you are thinking of your loved ones that you have lost, why not try focusing on the beautiful and happy memories and ALLOW yourself to smile about them? They would want that. They would be saying, “Please, please, enjoy yourself, it’s my greatest wish for you!” Sometimes we think we are supposed to feel bad about them not being there and although it’s okay to miss them and grieve, it’s okay to have JOY from the memories that make our heart smile, and to en-JOY where we are now and who is in our lives now.
I too have suffered loss. By the age of 29, I had lost both parents and a soulmate in a 3 year time frame. Do I miss them? Yes, but I am also over-JOYED at the people in my life today, and even more empowered to make sure I make the most of the time that I have left. I have no time to waste and am grateful to be alive.
One of the best ways to rise out of our pain, is to give what you are looking for. If you are lonely maybe reach out to someone else and send a kind word, or make a phone call, or send a lovely message on social media to tell them that they are thought of at this time. What we give out, we truly get back tenfold! Give Love and you will get Love back. Give Kindness and you will get Kindness back. Give a helping hand and you will get a full heart. Be the love you seek and it shall seek you!.
I want to personally wish everyone reading this a Happy Holiday, or just a Happy Day today, whenever you are reading this. I wish for you more JOY, more LOVE and more LIFE!

“At birth, our parents gave us a name; the universe gave us a number, or frequency.” Dan Millman. The Life You Were Born to Live: A Guide to Finding Your Life Purpose
As many of you know, I have been fascinated with numerology and the science of numbers for many years and have personally learned so much about myself through it. It was life changing for me in fact, and has helped me to create my ideal life and has also assisted me to understand what I am passionate about.
For example, the first time I was ever introduced to my Life Path number from Dan Millman’s “The Life You Were Born to Live”, this is what I read:
“Those on the 30/3 life path are here to work through issues of expression and sensitivity, overcoming self-doubt to express themselves and use their inner gifts to encourage, uplift, and inspire others. Most people come into life to work on a mixture of issues, but for 30/3s, their work and destiny are clear and focused. Those working 30/3 have the support of inner gifts, which include highly tuned sensitivity, inner strength, expressiveness, and intuition. All of these resources complement and support one major life theme: emotional expression.”
Reading this absolutely changed my life for the better and in that moment I had complete clarity of my life purpose here on earth. It all made sense and came together for me. Ever since then I have had a passion for sharing and helping others to better understand themselves through this ancient practice.
